Museum

Kobuleti felt the public-political life of the united Georgia and was suffering from all stages of history. There was no period of interest in this very interesting geographical area.

St. George's Cathedral is one of the important centers in the Middle Ages.

At the beginning of the last century, the inhabitants of Kobuleti, the Georgian Society of Historic Society, raised the issue of unacceptable to the smallest, 5 km from the city. After more than a century have passed since the day when the issue of storage and protection of the treasury was laid in Kobuleti. Archaeological findings of world importance could not be provided even with the opening of a small compact museum.

In the fall of 2010, the leadership of Kobuleti Municipality aimed at carrying out historical significance mission during the exhibition of various public holidays, ethnographic and present materials.

From January 2011, the Department of Culture has been established on the base of Kobuleti Culture Center. Intensively studying historical valleys and villages of the district began. Field-ethnographic expedition was conducted in Kintrishi historical valley; The museum has become a collection of interesting materials; Systematization came with a plan to implement a dream of a dream; One of the unique architectural and exemplary buildings was selected in the city's ancient quarter; Many physical and legal entities interested in the development of the museum field were found.

In 2011-2012 museum development was a kind of test for the implementation of a historic mission. The event held in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara did not stay in Kobuleti municipality's name in the historical-ethnographic context. The work of Kobuleti museum faculty has been rewarded with a number of important state prizes to showcase the museum's success in exhibitions.

May 18, 2012 is the birthday of the museum; A new era has been started in the development of Kobuleti Museum; On November 2, 2012 Kobuleti Municipality Sakrebulo received a historic decision to establish a non-profit (non-entrepreneurial) legal entity Kobuleti Museum. On November 29, 2012, the museum was registered in the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.

Today, there is no social-political or cultural-educational theme that the Kobuleti museum does not love Georgia.
