Old Kobuleti

The territory of Kobuleti has been lost to our ancestor since time immemorial. Discovered nature monuments date back 10,000 years. The first human traces of the Stone Age date back 9,000 years. Foreign historian sources have reported on Italian missionary Archangel Lambert XIV c. XVI's Vakhushti Bagrationi refers to Kobuleti as "like a small town and a good harbor." Since 1923 Kobuleti tourism potential has been recognized. In 1944 Kobuleti was granted the status of a city.
